Ms. Madhura Sawant

Madhura Sawant is a PhD scholar at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (TISS). Her research areas include Migration, Urban Studies, Political Sociology, Gender and Development. She has worked as a Research Assistant at SaciWATERS- South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Studies, EQUIPPPS- Equalities in Public Private Partnerships and Hyderabad Urban Lab. Her MPhil thesis was titled Life on the Periphery of the City- A Study of Banjara Seasonal Migration. She has published work on heritage Conservation in Pune which is an excerpt from her MA thesis- Conservation of Shaniwar Wada in Pune: Analysis from a Sociological Perspective.
